Microsoft's current CEO Satya Nadella has already gone through with the ice bucket challenge to raise awareness for ALS, and now its original CEO has as well.
Bill Gates was challenged by Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg yesterday, and now he's made good on the challenge. Gates uploaded a video today of himself dumping a bucket of ice water on his body, but he takes the challenge up a level by designing and building a machine that will help him dump the bucket of ice water on himself.
"I'm glad to give to ALS – it's a great cause," Gates says in the video, which appears to have been filmed on the dock at his home. "But [if] I want to accept this challenge, I want to do it better than it's been done."
Gates has challenged technology entrepreneur Elon Musk, entertainment personality Ryan Seacrest and TED leader Chris Anderson to take the challenge within the next 24 hours. With Nadella and Gates taking the challenge, now Steve Ballmer is the only current or former Microsoft CEO left to dump a bucket of ice on himself for ALS awareness.
