The Nexus 4 boasts a gorgeous 4.7in IPS display, With Android Jelly Bean 4.2 and quad-core processor

The Nexus 4 runs Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and is powered by a 1.5GHz Quad Core processor and packs a mammoth 2GB of RAM. It has a 4.7 inch capacitive touchscreen display offering resolution of 1280×768 and an 8MP rear camera. The front and back of this device is enclosed in Gorilla Glass.
Google Nexus 4 was priced at $299 and $349 in the US for the 8GB and 16GB versions respectively and now in the Ebay listing, it is Rs.23,490 and Rs.27,490 for the same. However, an LG spokesperson have said that the device will be released in India only by end of November and there is no word on the official pricing. The Ebay listing also says that the device will be shipped only after December 10.

Design and Build:

First thing we noticed was just how un-noticeable the Nexus 4 actually is, in fact if you just glanced with the screen turned off it could stand in as any number of nameless Android smartphones.

Taker a closer inspection however and you begin to notice the more premium details which set this apart from the competition. The Corning Gorilla Glass 2 display is slightly curved at the edges letting the finger slide of the screen.

On the back you’ll find a glass panel protecting a dark shimmering dot matrix pattern not unlike the wallpaper found on the first Nexus with a metallic band running around the phone. While the glass on the back is supposed to be scratch resistant we soon found that it was not invulnerable to the odd car key.

Weighing in at 139g this isn’t a light smartphone however the Nexus 4 manages to distribute the weight in such a way that it adds to the sense that this is a smartphone that could survive day to day without instantly needing to buy a case (iPhone 5 we’re looking at you).

Performance:

With a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro chip inside, the Nexus 4 is a benchmark beater. On the Geekbench app the processor registered a clock speed of 1.51GHz, and the device was measured to have 1.83GB of usable RAM. The Nexus 4 scored a total of 1846 in the processor and memory test, considerably higher than the flagship Samsung Galaxy S3, which scored 1387.
This high score translates to good real-world performance too. It handles the UI perfectly and makes for a reliable, smooth experience whether you’re making a call, viewing an HD movie or panning across 3D renders.
However, after running these benchmarks we did notice that the glass on the back of the phone got uncomfortably hot. We've seen reports that this glass has cracked after the device has been placed on a cold surface whilst still hot. Power users should bear in mind, but a cover will probably solve this issue.

Battery:

its 2100mAh battery cell and power-efficient Snapdragon S4 Pro chipset, the Nexus 4 offers a significant performance update over its predecessor. You will get a full working day out of it – around eight hours – before you hit the red, but it’s no Motorola RAZR MAXX HD.

Certain tasks eat up more battery than others, as is the case with 99.9 per cent of smartphones. During Mobile World Congress (MWC) earlier this year, we pushed our Nexus 4 to its upper limits and were able to isolate several key battery killers: uploading images and video, tethering, sending/receiving lots of emails, Skype, and making lots of calls.

The MWC test was extreme and in situations like this you’re looking at perhaps four to five hours of excellent processing power and call quality before the dreaded battery warnings start appearing.

In similar tests during MWC, the iPhone 5 forced us to locate a charging point around two hours before the Nexus 4. Google’s device does have a larger battery cell, however, so that’s to be expected. It’s also larger and thicker than Apple’s svelte iPhone – design wins out over performance yet again.

In normal conditions you’re looking at around 10 hours of battery life. It’ll do a full working day but you’d be wise to charge it in the afternoon if you’re going out after work. That goes for the iPhone 5 too.Want serious battery life? Go for the Motorola RAZR MAXX HD – that thing goes all day. After a great smartphone, packed with features and excellent spec for a cut throat price? It's the Nexus 4 every time.

Connectivity:

The Nexus 4 is loaded with 3G, DC-HSPA, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4, NFC and a GPS. There’s only one connectivity option missing from the Google Nexus 4 and that’s LTE. It's not a big miss at this time as it's restricted to EE and 4G is expensive for the speeds on offer.
