Google Doodle celebrating the 407 Birthday of Rembrandt van Rijn. Rembrandt Harmenszoon van Rijn was Dutch Painter and etcher. Rembrandt van Rijn was born on 15 July, 1606 in the Dutch Republic, now known as Netherland. He was 9th child of his parent.
Rembrandt was born in the year 1606. This great artist who was known as the “one of the best prophets of the civilization” has many brilliant works in his name. He was not only known as a painter but also an etcher.
Rembrandt Harmenszoon van Rijn was a Dutch painter and etcher. He is generally considered one of the greatest painters and printmakers in European art history and the most important in Dutch history.His contributions to art came in a period of great wealth and cultural achievement that historians call the Dutch Golden Age when Dutch Golden Age painting, although in many ways antithetical to the Baroque style that dominated Europe, was extremely prolific and innovative.
He adopted a painting style which reflects the emotions and quality of what he sketch. His primary paintings and drawings concentrated on the pictures of landscapes and other similar pictures. Later on he increased the depth of the themes he worked own. By the period 1640 he did many etching works and also entered in to the area of printmaking.
His works became more significant and the fame of Rembrandt spread everywhere such that people was ready to buy a piece of his works at any cost. He had a very big workshop with a number pupil.
Among his famous works it’s the Night Watch, The Jewish Bride, special biblical sketches and other etching works are now also preserved with great value and importance in the museum on his birth place. Rembrandt van Rijn was died on October 4th in the year 1669 at the age of 63. This doodle that we can see on the Google homepage is a real tribute to him.
